Teachers Spent $1.5 MILLION Lobbying

Wisconsin’s largest teachers’ union spent $1.5 million last year to get the ears of state legislators. WEAC spent about twice as much as the second-biggest lobbying effort. That’s according to figures released Monday by the state’s Government Accountability Board. All told, lobbyists spent over $36 million last year to try and influence the state budget and other legislation.
