This week, liberals in the House and Senate are working to repay their political allies during the lame duck session before they lose considerable power. We are told that the Dream Act, which will allow “back door” amnesty for potentially millions of illegal aliens, could come to the House floor for a vote next week. In Luke 21, Jesus warns his followers that the day would come when family and friends will betray His true followers. The betrayal would occur because these followers would continue to speak the truth even when it wasn't popular--and despite the unpopularity of the message, it could not successfully be opposed or resisted. As a result, they would be "hated" by even those closest to them because of Christ. Catholics for Equality has launched a campaign (soon to be equipped with smart phone apps) that would allow people attending Catholic mass to report--directly from the pews--a priest or bishop who speaks about marriage or family in a way they deem "hateful." There will also be a way, according to Aniello Alioto, the political director for liberal Progress Now, to contribute to the campaign "as the Holy Spirit moves them." For those who've bought into the well-crafted media spin from homosexuals that all that they want is tolerance, this should be a revelation. In truth, nothing--not even the Church--will be tolerated if it doesn't affirm their behavior.

America’s Biggest Problem: The Breakdown of the Family
The Left and the social welfare establishment wants children born out of wedlock because they are far more likely to be dependent on the government. They are 20 times more likely to wind up in prison and 9 times more likely to drop out of school. Well-known author Charles Murray said, Children born out of wedlock, are “the single most important social problem of our time – more important than crime, drugs, poverty, illiteracy, welfare, or homelessness because it drives everything else.”
While we can talk about jobs, education, or crime, our economy and freedoms will inevitably decline as long as the number of children born out of wedlock keeps going up. Was this caused by the government, and if so, what are the politicians going to do to turn things around? Let’s look at current programs that are given largely to single parents that they would almost certainly lose if two working parents were married.

Why Universal Electronic Medical Records Are BAD!
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center said Monday that bits and pieces of information, including 10 Social Security numbers, from about 6,800 patients had been inadvertently disclosed on the Internet.
The institutions said in a written statement that the information was mistakenly placed on a server from which it became public. Myrna Manners, a spokeswoman for the hospital, said it appeared that someone internally had made a mistake, and that there was no criminal wrongdoing.

Poverty tightens its grip on America. The U.S. Census Bureau reports poverty increased to 14.3 percent during 2009 from 13.2 percent the previous year. The percentage of Americans living in poverty is the highest level since 1994.

in poverty during 2009, up from 39.8 million during 2008. The poverty threshold
for a family of four during 2009 was set at $21,954 by the federal government.
So what are the solutions? Certainly, more jobs and more Americans staying in

George Soros said he was staying out of the 2010 elections. It appears he wasn't exactly telling the truth. After helping Al Franken steal a U.S. Senate seat in 2008, Soros's ultra-wealthy buddies in the Democracy Alliance, a billionaires' club that funds left-wing political infrastructure, are spending money to level the playing field for vote fraudsters. (Soros is also funding an effort to take away democratic elections for state supreme courts, as John Gizzi notes in a new Capital Research Center paper.)
Their money is flowing to secretary of state candidates directly and to the Secretary of State Project, a "527" political committee that can accept unlimited financial contributions that it doesn't have to disclose publicly until after the election. The SoS Project, which has raised at least $170,836 in this election cycle, is an officially approved Democracy Alliance grantee. Not surprisingly, members of the Alliance are opening their wallets to help secretary of state candidates across America endorsed by the SoS Project.
The purpose of the SoS Project is to destroy the remaining vestiges of electoral integrity. The group endorses left-wing, Democratic secretary of state candidates who have no respect for clean, honest elections.

How do you thank the leaders responsible for energizing the base and backing true conservatives? Well, if one of them is Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), you call him a "big loser" and promise to sharpen your knives. Welcome to the Republican Establishment, home of the fiscally moderate, socially progressive GOP. After what should have been a proud moment for all Republicans on Tuesday night, the GOP is angry about "what ifs"--particularly if it had won seats in Colorado, Delaware, and Washington--defeats they blame almost unanimously on Jim DeMint. Apparently, fighting to bring true conservative candidates into the Senate instead of weak-kneed moderates who oppose the Republican platform makes Sen. DeMint a villain. One of his colleagues said, "It's like you're on the five-yard line ready to score, and the quarterback calls the play, and some member of your team tackles one of your members and keeps you from scoring."
The only problem is that the "quarterback" is the old guard of the Republican Party. The same folks who backed big spending, pro-abortion, pro-gay GOP lap-dog incumbents. If it weren't for Sen. DeMint's primary upsets, America would be waking up to a Congress of Charlie Crists and Mike Castles--whose only distinction from the Democratic Party is the letter after their name! When it comes to electing people who will stick to the core values of conservatism, Sen. DeMint knows it's better to lose with a winner than win with a loser. And speaking of winners, his Tea Partiers had plenty. New Jersey Court Rules Spousal Abuse Acceptable Under Islam
This judge held that the defendant could not be held responsible for the violent sexual assaults of his wife because he did not have the specific intent to sexually assault his wife, and because his actions were "consistent with his [religious] practices." In other words, the judge refused to issue the permanent restraining order because under Sharia law, this Muslim husband had a "right" to rape his wife. THIS IS INSANE!!!!!

1 in 8 Wisconsinites Now on Food Stamps

With nearly 750,000 receiving FoodShare benefits, Wisconsin has seen a 24 percent increase in the number of food stamp recipients in the last year.
“The explosion in the growth of FoodShare recipients demonstrates again how so many families in Wisconsin are struggling in this economy,” said State Senator Alberta Darling (R-River Hills). Nearly three quarters of a million Wisconsin residents participated in the FoodShare program in July, an increase of 144,760 from the same month last year an a 12,158 jump from June. Darling said the startling revelation that one in eight Wisconsinites receive food stamps should shock elected officials into action.

We've Been Sacked by the Humane Society by Joe the Plumber
While Americans across the country have entered the political game to save our country, moving that proverbial ball of freedom towards the end zone, we’ve been sacked. Blindsided. We’ve been so focused on legislative elections (and rightly so) that most Americans don’t even know they’ve been hit – and hit hard. But not by some big, burly monster like voter fraud or corruption. No, we’ve been knocked flat by the ignorance of the conservative electorate and cute little puppies licking our stunned, what-the-heck-just-happened faces.
Well, I’ll tell you what just happened. It’s called the Humane Society of the United States cowardly hiding behind animal cruelty, lying to our citizens and taking our constitutional rights away – one state at a time. This radical animal rights organization (HSUS), who spends less than 0.5% of its $100M + budget on actually helping animals, is using the referendum process to slowly, systematically eliminate food production in the United States.

Madison Woman Helps Fund Abortions
At all hours, strangers phone Anne Nicol Gaylor's Madison home, always desperate. The caller one recent morning was a middle-aged woman with a 14-year-old pregnant daughter. "What clinic will she be using?" asked Gaylor, 83, jotting down the response and the cost of a second-trimester abortion ($875).
"If we helped with $300, do you think you could find the rest?" Gaylor asked. After the call, Gaylor opened a checkbook for the Women's Medical Fund, a Madison nonprofit that has helped pay for abortions for 34 years. Gaylor has written every check for every abortion. This was No. 18,986.
Controversial figure Gaylor is well-known for leading the Freedom From Religion Foundation in Madison for decades. Less known is her work with the Women's Medical Fund, which she co-founded in 1976, the same year she helped start the foundation.

Global Currency Coming
If the International Monetary Fund gets its way, the U.S. dollar will be replaced by the "bancor" as the world's reserve currency. According to a report published April 13, the IMF would like to adopt a plan of action that would expand the use of SDRs (Special Drawing Rights) to replace the U.S. dollar as the storehouse of value, and eventually create a global currency called the "bancor."
"Bancor" is the name suggested by John Maynard Keynes, the British economist who headed the World Banking Commission that created the IMF during the Breton Woods negotiations, which preceded the United Nations. The new global currency would be issued by a new global central bank that would have the authority to levy taxes for various infractions. The bank would have to be, according to the report writers, "accountable to member nations, but remain independent." This statement sounds much like the defenders of the Federal Reserve which was created by Congress, and is supposed to be accountable to Congress, but refuses to allow Congress to audit its activities or even to answer Congressional questions about to whom it lends U.S. dollars.

Soros Has a Pastor Close to Obama On His Payroll
The tangled web woven by George Soros served as a safety net for Barack Obama when he needed rescue from the exposure of Jeremiah Wright as an America-hating radical. Pastor Jim Wallis lied about receiving money from George Soros's Open Society Institute. His organization, Sojourners, is a leftist "social justice" type of ministry. He and Sojourners have a history with Barack Obama that I have been tracking for a few years. When the Jeremiah Wright scandal erupted, candidate Barack Obama had to find religion -- fast. Fortunately for him, he had a backup pastor in place and ready to go: Jim Wallis. Apparently, Obama felt right at home with Wallis.

Green For All: Redistributing Wealth in the Name of the Environment
Founded in 2007, Green For All (GFA) was created by Van Jones to lobby for federal climate, energy, and economic policy initiatives. Joel Rogers, founder of the Apollo Alliance and the Emerald Cities Collaborative, also helped to establish GFA through his primary Wisconsin organization, COWS. Both Jones and Rogers are major players in the push for Cap and Trade legislation, and they have collaborated in an effort to transform America’s environmental policy. America’s One-Child Policy
For the last several months, Chinese officials have been floating the idea of relaxing the country’s famed “One-Child” policy. One-Child has long been admired in the West by environmentalists, anti-population doomsayers, and some of our sillier professional wise men. In Hot, Flat, and Crowded (2008), for instance, Tom Friedman lauded the policy for saving China from “a population calamity.” What Friedman and others fail to understand is that China is built upon a crumbling demographic base. One-Child may or may not have “saved” China from overpopulation, but it has certainly created a demographic catastrophe.

Milwaukee Now Fourth Poorest City in Nation
Milwaukee emerged as America's fourth-most impoverished big city in 2009, as the Great Recession rippled across the city and state, according to U.S. Census Bureau figures released Tuesday. Milwaukee's poverty rate reached 27%, up from 23.4% in the previous year. Only Detroit (36.4%), Cleveland (35%) and Buffalo (28.8%) had higher poverty rates among cities with populations greater than 250,000. Milwaukee was ranked 11th in 2008.

Communists to Be Welcomed at Progressive March
The “peace director” of the October 2 “One Nation Working Together” rally says that the U.S. should immediately withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan, military aid to Israel should be ended, and that Iran has the right to develop nuclear weapons as long as the U.S. has them. He also says that Marxists are invited to participate at his upcoming rally. Michael McPhearson, one of the key organizers of the event and former executive director of Veterans for Peace, tells Accuracy in Media, “I’m not all that concerned if you’re a Republican, Democrat, or Marxist or Communist, whatever,” he said. “I just want us to work together to make our country better. That’s what I look at—not if you’re a socialist.”

President Obama removed the reference to the "Creator" from the Declaration of Independence when he quoted a portion at a meeting of the Congressional Hispanic Congress.

The mob shut down businesses and clashed with police over the blasphemous skivvies. But it turned out there was no need for Allah's avengers to get their holy knickers in a bunch. The alleged mosque was actually a building resembling London's St. Paul's Cathedral. A Kashmiri law enforcement official later concluded the protests were "premeditated and organized to vitiate the atmosphere." Indeed, art and graphics have an uncanny way of vitiating the Muslim world's atmosphere. In 1994, Muslims threatened German supermodel Claudia Schiffer with death after she wore a Karl Lagerfeld-designed dress printed with a saying from the Koran. In 1997, outraged Muslims forced Nike to recall 800,000 shoes because they claimed the company's "Air" logo looked like the Arabic script for "Allah." In 1998, another conflagration spread over Unilever's ice cream logo -- which Muslims claimed looked like "Allah" if read upside-down and backward (can't recall what they said it resembled if you viewed it with 3D glasses).

Parents Beware - College-Bound: Turning Your Child Over to the Campus Liberals
A recent survey at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. found that in the last election 92% of faculty donations were to Democratic candidates. The professors’ leftwards leanings influenced the courses available to students—it’s easier to find courses on gay films, minority cultures, and feminist theory than on the classics of Western Civilization. Even in southern Virginia, 82% of Virginia Tech professors supported Democratic candidates. And at Texas’ Southern Methodist University, home to the Bush Presidential Library, liberal student organizations outnumber conservative groups by five to one. Such odds are common across the country.
Colleges typically send summer reading lists to incoming freshman, encouraging them to read books considered foundational to their education. The 2010 summer reading lists were dominated by selections from the liberal thought police: the top two categories were “multiculturalism, immigration and racism” and “environmentalism, animal rights and food.” The report from the National Association of Scholars said the selected books foreshadow what students can expect to encounter in class: attitudes that are “anti-Western, anti-business, multicultural, environmentalist and alienated.”

More Unaccountable Obama Czars
Barack Obama has appointed another Czar from Chicago: the new Food Czar Sam Kass. Officially, he is labeled Senior Policy Adviser for Healthy Food Initiatives, but he's joining the list of more than 35 Czars given broad and unaccountable power over our lives, habits and spending. Everybody laughed when Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) asked Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan if it would be constitutional for Congress to order Americans "to eat three vegetables and three fruits every day." Kagan declined to give a straightforward answer, maybe because she knew that exactly that type of dictatorial mandate is coming soon, in both Obamacare and a ukase issued by the new Food Czar.
Far scarier is Obama's appointment of his new Health Czar, Donald Berwick, to be the top administrator over Medicare and Medicaid. The life-and-death powers he will exercise, the huge sums of taxpayers' money he will direct, and the dishonest way Obama evaded the Senate's constitutional right to interrogate and reject him, make this the most shocking of all Obama's appointments. Obama told Joe the Plumber that he wanted to redistribute the wealth. We didn't realize what else Obama planned to redistribute.

Saul Alinsky in South Dakota
Saul Alinsky died in 1972. He was a Marxist grassroots organizer who spent much of his life organizing rent strikes and protesting conditions of the poor in Chicago in the 1930s. However, unlike Christian socialist and activist for the poor Dorothy Day, Alinsky's real claim to fame was as strategist for anti-establishment '60s radicals and revolutionaries. Indeed, Alinsky wrote the rule book for '60s radicals like Bill and Hillary Clinton, George Miller and Nancy Pelosi. He considered Hillary Rodham to be one of his better students and asked her to join him in his efforts as an organizer of radical leftist causes. But Hillary had other fish to fry on her climb to national prominence

Alinsky advises his followers that the poor have no power and that the real target is the middle class: "Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America's white middle class. That is where the power is. ... Our rebels have contemptuously rejected the values and the way of life of the middle class. They have stigmatized it as materialistic, decadent, bourgeois, degenerate, imperialistic, war-mongering, brutalized and corrupt. They are right; but we must begin from where we are if we are to build power for change, and the power and the people are in the middle class majority." But that didn't stop Alinsky and his followers from using the middle class for their own purposes. They counted on the guilt and shame of the white middle class to get what they wanted. In order to take over institutions and get power, the middle class had to be convinced that they were somehow lucky winners in "life's lottery."

In an attempt to have her mother’s name removed she discovered her mother voted in a previous election after she had passes away! What a surprise, her mother was always determined but this was beyond the pale! Obama Takes Illinois Mistakes Nationwide
"Unsustainable" is a scary word that recently entered political discourse, coming authoritatively from Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Douglas Elmendorf. Unsustainability is the operative moniker for Barack Obama's massive deficit spending, which Elmendorf said "cannot be solved through minor tinkering."
The CBO predicts an increase in our public debt from $7.5 trillion at the end of 2009 to $20.3 trillion at the end of 2020 if Obama's fiscal 2011 budget is implemented. As a percentage of gross domestic product, the debt will rise from 53 percent to 90 percent. Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND) sharpened the focus by asking the CBO Director: "What's going to be necessary [is] either a 25 percent increase in taxes or a 20 percent reduction in spending, or some combination thereof. Is that correct?" Elmendorf replied "yes."
Americans are beginning to wonder if Greece is the picture of America's future. But we need look no further than the place where Obama and his team were trained in community organizing and bully tactics to redistribute the wealth: Illinois.

Panel Vote Could Clear Way For Ground Zero Mosque
A contentious plan for a mosque near the World Trade Center site will get a boost if New York City's landmarks panel votes Tuesday to allow the demolition of the building that the mosque would replace. The mosque would be part of an Islamic community center to be operated by a group called the Cordoba Initiative, which says the center will be a space for moderate Muslim voices. But opponents say building a mosque near ground zero would be an insult to the memory of those who died at the hands of Muslim extremists on Sept. 11, 2001.

Lawsuit Claims College Ordered Student to Alter Religious Views on Homosexuality, Or Be Dismissed
A graduate student in Georgia is suing her university after she was told she must undergo a remediation program due to her beliefs on homosexuality and transgendered persons.
The student, Jennifer Keeton, 24, has been pursuing a master's degree in school counseling at Augusta State University since 2009, but school officials have informed her that she'll be dismissed from the program unless she alters her "central religious beliefs on human nature and conduct," according to a civil complaint filed last week.

On Wednesday, Bishop Gerald Kicanas speaking on behalf of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishop, addressed the House Judiciary subcommittee, and made the following statement: “Immigration is ultimately a humanitarian issue since it impacts the basic rights and dignity of millions of persons and their families. As such, it has moral implications, especially how it impacts the basic survival and decency of life experienced by human beings like us. ... Our current immigration system fails to meet the moral test of protecting the basic rights and dignity of the human person.” “Because of a broken system, immigrant families are being separated. Migrant workers are subject to exploitation by unscrupulous employers, and those attempting to find work by coming north are being abused and taken advantage of by human smugglers. it is our view that the best way to secure our southern border is through (comprehensive) immigration reform.”
While Kicanas, who is the head of the archdiocese in Tucson, claimed that over the last ten years, thousands of men, women and children have died in the desert trying to cross into this country…he failed to mention the thousands of Americans who have been killed by illegal aliens. President Obama's Federal Communications Commission seems intent on regulating the Internet no matter what. Last Fall, it was about "net neutrality" regulation – a nice sounding idea that in practice would undermine investment, disrupt the functioning of networks, and empower the FCC to be traffic cops for the Internet.
A couple of months ago the FCC was smacked down in court by the DC Circuit, which found that the commission's claim that it had authority to regulate the Internet was not based in law. Did they back down? Did they ask Congress to give them the authority they wanted the legitimate way, by passing a law? Of course not. Instead they escalated their regulatory onslaught, proposing to reclassify Internet access as a public utility and put it under the framework designed in the 1930s for the old-fashioned phone network. Wall Street analysts called this "the nuclear option" because of the devastating effect it would have on investment.
Last Thursday, on a 3-2 party-line vote, the FCC opened a Notice of Inquiry on reclassifying the Internet as a regulated public utility. I'll ask you to put comments in that docket soon, but right now it's critical that we focus on Congress. CLOSING AMERICAN LAND TO AMERICANS - Uptick in Violence Forces Closing of Parkland Along Mexico Border to Americans
About 3,500 acres of southern Arizona along the Mexican border is closed to U.S. citizens due to increased violence in the region. The closed off area stretches 80 miles along the border and includes part of the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge. It was closed in October 2006 "due to human safety concerns," the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said Wednesday in response to news reports on the closure.
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told Fox News that violence against law enforcement officers and U.S. citizens has increased in the past four months, further underscoring the need to keep the 80 miles of border land off-limits to Americans. The refuge had been adversely affected by the increase in drug smugglers, illegal activity and surveillance, which made it dangerous for Americans to visit.

Obama Prevaricates about Jobs
The spectacular loss of American jobs is devastating to more Americans than the oil spill in the Gulf, but Barack Obama still doesn't get it. This month he bragged to an audience of truckers in Hyattsville, Maryland, that our economy is "getting stronger by the day."
The U.S. Labor Department reports a very different picture. The number of long-term unemployed, defined as Americans out of work for 27 or more weeks, is at its highest level since the Labor Department began collecting such data in the 1940s.
More bad news comes from the Labor Department. In May, 431,000 jobs were added, but nine-tenths of them were government jobs.
Unemployment of young men is the highest in 61 years of record-keeping, according to the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University in Boston. The numbers for minority teenagers are tragic.

Wisconsin vs. Arizona
MATC (Milwaukee Area Technical College) PASSED a resolution on May 25th, 2010 that,
"directs the college administration to refrain from purchasing good or services from any company headquartered in Arizona; to not send MATC employees to conferences or meetings held in Arizona; and to review existing contracts for the purchase of goods and services with companies headquartered in Arizona and to discontinue those contracts consistent with the terms of the contract."

2) Publicly apologize to the citizens of Arizona
3) Publicly apologize to Wisconsin’s property taxpayers, state income tax payers and students who pay tuition without further delay.

A request from a Relevant Radio listener has revealed that staffers of Cardinal George, leader of the Archidiocese of Chicago and President of the USCCB, have asked that interviews from last year between Drew Mariani and CCHD expert Stephanie Block be erased from the web archives of past shows. After the missing interviews were discovered, Michael Kendall, Chief Programming Officer, sent the following note, "Thanks for your recent inquiry regarding archived audio segemnts from 2009 episodes of the Drew Mariani Show. The particular segments of interest to you were removed from our website at the request of the staff of a Bishop who was encouraging the faithful to support the collection for the CCHD.
