Governor Doyle's Global Warming Bills (Senate Bill 450/Assembly Bill 649) are being fast-tracked through the State Legislature. These bills will have an absolutely devastating impact on Wisconsin especially since we have already lost over 163,000 jobs in the last year. Wisconsin can not afford for the Legislature to pass even a compromised version of either SB450 or AB649.

Look no further than China's recent move against Google to censor the Internet, and you can envision what can happen when other nations less free than the United States seek to control the Internet beyond even their own borders.

America needs to wake up. If we lose control over the management of the Internet, we have given away one of our nation's greatest assets with nothing in return to show for it.

The Obama administration's actions will set in motion a slow and complete takeover of the Internet by the United Nations or some other equally U.S.-hostile and unfriendly international body. And once it is gone, it will be gone forever.

Conference of Catholic Bishops Exec Chaired Pro-Abortion, LGBT Rights Group

A national group that promotes abortion and homosexual rights has deep ties with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development, according to a report released Monday. Top USCCB executive John Carr held simultaneous leadership roles, creating a conflict of interest, with the USCCB and the radical Center for Community Change. “The closer we look at the Bishops’ Conference [staff and programs], the more we find a systemic pattern of cooperation with evil,” said Michael Hichborn, American Life League’s lead researcher into the USCCB scandal. “The CCC has lodged itself into the highest places of power in the USCCB while working to promote abortion and homosexuality.”

John Carr is the USCCB executive director of the Department of Justice Peace and Human Development which oversees the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD). He has been employed by the USCCB since 1987. John Carr’s relationship with the Center for Community Change goes back at least to 1983, serving in leadership roles from 1999 to 2006 – including as chairman of the board. The Reform CCHD Now report details the organization’s promotion of abortion, “reproductive rights” and homosexuality as among the CCC’s core advocacy focuses.

Contact your state Legislators and tell them NOT to support this legislation!

This bill would create a driving card that may be issued to a person who does not provide documentary proof of legal status but who is otherwise qualified for a driver’s license. In addition, no law enforcement officer, state agent, or local authority may use the driver card as a basis to inquire about the immigration status of an individual who lawfully presents the card for its intended purpose. This proposal also includes that no insurer may cancel or refuse to issue or renew an automobile insurance policy because the policy holder holds a driver card issued under these provisions.

Supporters of the legislation included: the Dairy Business Association, the Wisconsin State Troopers Association, Milwaukee Police Chief Flynn, and Madison Police Chief Wray.

Urgent Action Needed: Senate Committee to Vote on Planned Parenthood Sex Ed Bill

I am saddened to inform you that the Senate Education Committee in Madison is scheduled to vote on Planned Parenthood’s Sex Education Bill – Senate Bill 324/Assembly Bill 458, this Wednesday, January 27th at 9:30 AM. The driving force behind the bill is America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, which operates 3 of the 4 largest abortion clinics in Wisconsin. For an indication of how Planned Parenthood intends to discuss sex with our children and their expectations for young people, please see their website.

Currently, Planned Parenthood is paid by the state of Wisconsin taxpayers to give free contraceptives to all adolescents above the age of 14 (However, they do not turn away younger boys and girls). SB 324/AB 458 is the most significant change to Wisconsin sex education that we’ve had in a generation and the bills clearly promote that young people are expected to be sexually active. These bills do this in the following way:

1. Currently, school districts can teach abstinence-centered instruction. While SB 324/AB 458 discusses abstinence, it will bar abstinence only instruction. This bill will not let school districts teach abstinence without teaching condom and contraceptive use. (SB 324 page 3, lines 14-17) http://www.legis.state.wi.us/2009/data/SB324-SSA1.pdf

2. Current law dictates that local school districts have committees, which include members of clergy, to decide what is included in their school district’s sex ed curriculum. This bill will require the curriculum be recommended by national liberal groups including the American Public Health Association, which has taken the extreme position of being in favor of partial birth abortion.

3. SB 324/AB 458 requires sex ed instruction to not have a bias regarding sexual orientation/homosexuality or having sex before marriage. Therefore, any instruction that says homosexuality or sex before marriage is considered morally wrong would not be allowed under SB 324/AB 458. Proponents of the bill have indicated this curriculum is appropriate for 6th and 7th graders. (SB 324 page 3, lines 23-25)

4. Although parents are able to opt their children out, the instruction will influence the next generation of Wisconsin students' morality and lower the expectations for early sexual activity.

Your Urgent Action is Requested

1. Contact the Senate Education Committee members and ask them to oppose AB 458/SB 324.

2. Contact your state senator and ask him/her to vote “no” on Senate Bill 324 and AB 458.

3. Forward the information in this email to as many of your family and friends as possible and personally request their help in defeating these morally devastating bills.

4. If possible meet with your state senator in person and ask them to stand with life and oppose these Planned Parenthood bills. - This is especially important for people who live in the Democrat districts of the Wisconsin Senate Education Committee members - Green Bay area, Racine area, Madison/Fitchburg/Verona/Waunakee area, and Hayward/Superior/Rice Lake and Cable area.

5. Pray that this bill is stopped from becoming law in Wisconsin.
