Squishy Republicans Decide to Hit the Jim

How do you thank the leaders responsible for energizing the base and backing true conservatives? Well, if one of them is Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), you call him a "big loser" and promise to sharpen your knives. Welcome to the Republican Establishment, home of the fiscally moderate, socially progressive GOP. After what should have been a proud moment for all Republicans on Tuesday night, the GOP is angry about "what ifs"--particularly if it had won seats in Colorado, Delaware, and Washington--defeats they blame almost unanimously on Jim DeMint. Apparently, fighting to bring true conservative candidates into the Senate instead of weak-kneed moderates who oppose the Republican platform makes Sen. DeMint a villain. One of his colleagues said, "It's like you're on the five-yard line ready to score, and the quarterback calls the play, and some member of your team tackles one of your members and keeps you from scoring."

The only problem is that the "quarterback" is the old guard of the Republican Party. The same folks who backed big spending, pro-abortion, pro-gay GOP lap-dog incumbents. If it weren't for Sen. DeMint's primary upsets, America would be waking up to a Congress of Charlie Crists and Mike Castles--whose only distinction from the Democratic Party is the letter after their name! When it comes to electing people who will stick to the core values of conservatism, Sen. DeMint knows it's better to lose with a winner than win with a loser. And speaking of winners, his Tea Partiers had plenty. Thanks to his leadership, men like Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Marco Rubio (R-Fl.), and Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) have a new home in the Senate. Obviously, the Republican Party is upset because Sen. DeMint is effective--and he's effectively taking them back to their roots of social and fiscal discipline. But in the end the only opinion that matters is America's, and they think he's a hero. As do I.

New Jersey Court Rules Spousal Abuse Acceptable Under Islam

This judge held that the defendant could not be held responsible for the violent sexual assaults of his wife because he did not have the specific intent to sexually assault his wife, and because his actions were "consistent with his [religious] practices." In other words, the judge refused to issue the permanent restraining order because under Sharia law, this Muslim husband had a "right" to rape his wife. THIS IS INSANE!!!!!

1 in 8 Wisconsinites Now on Food Stamps

More than one in eight, or 13 percent, of all Wisconsin residents are on food stamps.
With nearly 750,000 receiving FoodShare benefits, Wisconsin has seen a 24 percent increase in the number of food stamp recipients in the last year.

“The explosion in the growth of FoodShare recipients demonstrates again how so many families in Wisconsin are struggling in this economy,” said State Senator Alberta Darling (R-River Hills). Nearly three quarters of a million Wisconsin residents participated in the FoodShare program in July, an increase of 144,760 from the same month last year an a 12,158 jump from June. Darling said the startling revelation that one in eight Wisconsinites receive food stamps should shock elected officials into action.

Since the Moynihan Report, out-of-wedlock births in the United States have grown to 72.3 percent for blacks, 52.5 percent for Hispanics, and 28.6 percent for whites (non-Hispanic). For the population as a whole, out-of-wedlock births have risen from 6 percent in the 1960s to 40.6 percent today.

Madison Woman Helps Fund Abortions

At all hours, strangers phone Anne Nicol Gaylor's Madison home, always desperate. The caller one recent morning was a middle-aged woman with a 14-year-old pregnant daughter. "What clinic will she be using?" asked Gaylor, 83, jotting down the response and the cost of a second-trimester abortion ($875).

"If we helped with $300, do you think you could find the rest?" Gaylor asked. After the call, Gaylor opened a checkbook for the Women's Medical Fund, a Madison nonprofit that has helped pay for abortions for 34 years. Gaylor has written every check for every abortion. This was No. 18,986.

Controversial figure Gaylor is well-known for leading the Freedom From Religion Foundation in Madison for decades. Less known is her work with the Women's Medical Fund, which she co-founded in 1976, the same year she helped start the foundation.

Global Currency Coming

If the International Monetary Fund gets its way, the U.S. dollar will be replaced by the "bancor" as the world's reserve currency. According to a report published April 13, the IMF would like to adopt a plan of action that would expand the use of SDRs (Special Drawing Rights) to replace the U.S. dollar as the storehouse of value, and eventually create a global currency called the "bancor."

"Bancor" is the name suggested by John Maynard Keynes, the British economist who headed the World Banking Commission that created the IMF during the Breton Woods negotiations, which preceded the United Nations. The new global currency would be issued by a new global central bank that would have the authority to levy taxes for various infractions. The bank would have to be, according to the report writers, "accountable to member nations, but remain independent." This statement sounds much like the defenders of the Federal Reserve which was created by Congress, and is supposed to be accountable to Congress, but refuses to allow Congress to audit its activities or even to answer Congressional questions about to whom it lends U.S. dollars.

The “peace director” of the October 2 “One Nation Working Together” rally says that the U.S. should immediately withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan, military aid to Israel should be ended, and that Iran has the right to develop nuclear weapons as long as the U.S. has them. He also says that Marxists are invited to participate at his upcoming rally. Michael McPhearson, one of the key organizers of the event and former executive director of Veterans for Peace, tells Accuracy in Media, “I’m not all that concerned if you’re a Republican, Democrat, or Marxist or Communist, whatever,” he said. “I just want us to work together to make our country better. That’s what I look at—not if you’re a socialist.”

The October 2 rally in Washington, D.C. is designed to counter the Tea Party, a grass roots movement of citizens devoted to limited government, and the recent “Restoring Honor” rally in the nation’s capital sponsored by Fox News personality Glenn Beck..........

McPhearson, controversial in his own right, confirmed his participation in the 2008 national convention of the Black Radical Congress, a gathering that included representatives of the Communist Party, the Freedom Road Socialist Organization, and the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America. The theme of the event was “Forging a Black Liberation Agenda for the 21st Century.”


McPhearson said he spoke to the gathering on the subject of veterans issues. The group’s website highlights former Communist Party official Angela Davis and Black Panther head Stokely Carmichael as examples of “black people working in radical ways to create change.” It says, “From the slave rebellions of the 19th century to contemporary figures in black radicalism like the Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Angela Davis, a tradition of radical behavior colors the African American story.”

President Obama removed the reference to the "Creator" from the Declaration of Independence when he quoted a portion at a meeting of the Congressional Hispanic Congress.

But the the actual quotation is:

A Kashmiri law enforcement official later concluded the protests were "premeditated and organized to vitiate the atmosphere." Indeed, art and graphics have an uncanny way of vitiating the Muslim world's atmosphere. In 1994, Muslims threatened German supermodel Claudia Schiffer with death after she wore a Karl Lagerfeld-designed dress printed with a saying from the Koran. In 1997, outraged Muslims forced Nike to recall 800,000 shoes because they claimed the company's "Air" logo looked like the Arabic script for "Allah." In 1998, another conflagration spread over Unilever's ice cream logo -- which Muslims claimed looked like "Allah" if read upside-down and backward (can't recall what they said it resembled if you viewed it with 3D glasses).

A recent survey at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. found that in the last election 92% of faculty donations were to Democratic candidates. The professors’ leftwards leanings influenced the courses available to students—it’s easier to find courses on gay films, minority cultures, and feminist theory than on the classics of Western Civilization. Even in southern Virginia, 82% of Virginia Tech professors supported Democratic candidates. And at Texas’ Southern Methodist University, home to the Bush Presidential Library, liberal student organizations outnumber conservative groups by five to one. Such odds are common across the country.

Colleges typically send summer reading lists to incoming freshman, encouraging them to read books considered foundational to their education. The 2010 summer reading lists were dominated by selections from the liberal thought police: the top two categories were “multiculturalism, immigration and racism” and “environmentalism, animal rights and food.” The report from the National Association of Scholars said the selected books foreshadow what students can expect to encounter in class: attitudes that are “anti-Western, anti-business, multicultural, environmentalist and alienated.”

Everybody laughed when Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) asked Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan if it would be constitutional for Congress to order Americans "to eat three vegetables and three fruits every day." Kagan declined to give a straightforward answer, maybe because she knew that exactly that type of dictatorial mandate is coming soon, in both Obamacare and a ukase issued by the new Food Czar.

Far scarier is Obama's appointment of his new Health Czar, Donald Berwick, to be the top administrator over Medicare and Medicaid. The life-and-death powers he will exercise, the huge sums of taxpayers' money he will direct, and the dishonest way Obama evaded the Senate's constitutional right to interrogate and reject him, make this the most shocking of all Obama's appointments. Obama told Joe the Plumber that he wanted to redistribute the wealth. We didn't realize what else Obama planned to redistribute.

What the ‘Amnesty Memo’ Means

Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker Nancy Pelosi are facing a dilemma: Although they publicly bemoan the fact that Republicans won’t help them pass an unpopular amnesty . . . er, comprehensive immigration-reform bill, they don’t want to force vulnerable Democrats to vote on amnesty this close to the November elections — especially not with unemployment at 9.5 percent.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) may have uncovered the answer to their dilemma last week: an internal U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services memo that outlines steps the Obama administration can take “in the absence of Comprehensive Immigration Reform” — that is, lawfully enacted amnesty — to “reduce the threat of removal for certain individuals present in the United States without authorization.”

The four authors of the memo, titled “Administrative Alternatives to Comprehensive Immigration Reform,” are political appointees USCIS chief of policy and strategy Denise Vanison (a former immigration attorney and partner at Patton Boggs) and USCIS chief counsel Roxana Bacon (former general counsel for the American Immigration Lawyers Association), and two career employees of USCIS director Alejandro Mayorkas, another Obama appointee.

Saul Alinsky in South Dakota

Saul Alinsky died in 1972. He was a Marxist grassroots organizer who spent much of his life organizing rent strikes and protesting conditions of the poor in Chicago in the 1930s. However, unlike Christian socialist and activist for the poor Dorothy Day, Alinsky's real claim to fame was as strategist for anti-establishment '60s radicals and revolutionaries. Indeed, Alinsky wrote the rule book for '60s radicals like Bill and Hillary Clinton, George Miller and Nancy Pelosi. He considered Hillary Rodham to be one of his better students and asked her to join him in his efforts as an organizer of radical leftist causes. But Hillary had other fish to fry on her climb to national prominence

Alinsky advises his followers that the poor have no power and that the real target is the middle class: "Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America's white middle class. That is where the power is. ... Our rebels have contemptuously rejected the values and the way of life of the middle class. They have stigmatized it as materialistic, decadent, bourgeois, degenerate, imperialistic, war-mongering, brutalized and corrupt. They are right; but we must begin from where we are if we are to build power for change, and the power and the people are in the middle class majority." But that didn't stop Alinsky and his followers from using the middle class for their own purposes. They counted on the guilt and shame of the white middle class to get what they wanted. In order to take over institutions and get power, the middle class had to be convinced that they were somehow lucky winners in "life's lottery."

In an attempt to have her mother’s name removed she discovered her mother voted in a previous election after she had passes away! Now it’s your turn, do you know someone who may still be listed on the state voter registration list and shouldn’t be? There is an easy way to find out; this is how you do it:

There is a very valuable tool on the internet called “VPA” – Voter Public Access (https://vpa.wi.gov ). By entering a name and birthdate you can check the voting status of your mother, father, children, aunts, uncles, all of your family and friends, living, deceased, or those who have moved to another area. Who knows, you may discover that someone who died or moved out of state is still voting! If so, call your municipal clerk (Google: “wis municipal clerks” for name and contact information) and have the incorrect name removed from the list. If the “name” is in another municipality call the Government Accountability Board at 608-266-8005.

Obama Takes Illinois Mistakes Nationwide

"Unsustainable" is a scary word that recently entered political discourse, coming authoritatively from Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Douglas Elmendorf. Unsustainability is the operative moniker for Barack Obama's massive deficit spending, which Elmendorf said "cannot be solved through minor tinkering."

The CBO predicts an increase in our public debt from $7.5 trillion at the end of 2009 to $20.3 trillion at the end of 2020 if Obama's fiscal 2011 budget is implemented. As a percentage of gross domestic product, the debt will rise from 53 percent to 90 percent. Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND) sharpened the focus by asking the CBO Director: "What's going to be necessary [is] either a 25 percent increase in taxes or a 20 percent reduction in spending, or some combination thereof. Is that correct?" Elmendorf replied "yes."

Americans are beginning to wonder if Greece is the picture of America's future. But we need look no further than the place where Obama and his team were trained in community organizing and bully tactics to redistribute the wealth: Illinois.

A contentious plan for a mosque near the World Trade Center site will get a boost if New York City's landmarks panel votes Tuesday to allow the demolition of the building that the mosque would replace. Catholic Bishop Lobbies Congress for Amnesty Bill

On Wednesday, Bishop Gerald Kicanas speaking on behalf of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishop, addressed the House Judiciary subcommittee, and made the following statement: “Immigration is ultimately a humanitarian issue since it impacts the basic rights and dignity of millions of persons and their families. As such, it has moral implications, especially how it impacts the basic survival and decency of life experienced by human beings like us. ... Our current immigration system fails to meet the moral test of protecting the basic rights and dignity of the human person.” “Because of a broken system, immigrant families are being separated. Migrant workers are subject to exploitation by unscrupulous employers, and those attempting to find work by coming north are being abused and taken advantage of by human smugglers. it is our view that the best way to secure our southern border is through (comprehensive) immigration reform.”

While Kicanas, who is the head of the archdiocese in Tucson, claimed that over the last ten years, thousands of men, women and children have died in the desert trying to cross into this country…he failed to mention the thousands of Americans who have been killed by illegal aliens. Nor did the Bishop mention the thousands of American children who have been molested by many of those “migrant workers.” Of course, the issue of child molestation is a touchy one for the Catholic Church. Though it may be unethical or a violation of the Church’s tax exempt status to use their position to engage in politics, Bishop Kicanas’ lobbying on behalf of illegal aliens is only the latest such effort by the Catholic Church.

According to the latest Government Accountability Office (GAO) reports, the abortion giant can't puts its fingers on a cool $1.3 billion in federal funds. Of the $2.02 billion that the International Planned Parenthood Federation raked in between 2002-2009, only $657.1 million is accounted for. Twenty-six House members and five senators have filed an information request demanding to know where the missing money is.

Rationing Health Care? You Bet Your Life!

Senate Democrats are rushing to confirm the new head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services--well ahead of the timetable most Republicans expected. Perhaps part of the reason is the controversy set to ensue over the administration's pick. As Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wy.) said, "President Obama didn't mention that the new Medicare director, someone he's recently named... is planning to ration care." Or, as Berwick has said, "The decision is not whether or not we will ration care. The decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open."

If you thought all the talk about "death panels" was conservative hogwash, think again. An anti-market socialist, Berwick once decried the U.S. health system as "trapped in the darkness of private enterprise." With Berwick at the helm, Medicare and Medicaid programs are expected to cut billions of dollars in services. And why not? According to the socialist model that Berwick admires, it's much cheaper to let sick people die.
