Tell Congress to Stop the FCC Internet Takeover
A couple of months ago the FCC was smacked down in court by the DC Circuit, which found that the commission's claim that it had authority to regulate the Internet was not based in law. Did they back down? Did they ask Congress to give them the authority they wanted the legitimate way, by passing a law? Of course not. Instead they escalated their regulatory onslaught, proposing to reclassify Internet access as a public utility and put it under the framework designed in the 1930s for the old-fashioned phone network. Wall Street analysts called this "the nuclear option" because of the devastating effect it would have on investment.
Last Thursday, on a 3-2 party-line vote, the FCC opened a Notice of Inquiry on reclassifying the Internet as a regulated public utility. I'll ask you to put comments in that docket soon, but right now it's critical that we focus on Congress. We must get Congress to step in and STOP the FCC's Internet takeover now, because the FCC has launched secret meetings this week to strong-arm and coerce Internet companies into accepting net neutrality regulations or face even more devastating reclassification into a public utility!

CLOSING AMERICAN LAND TO AMERICANS - Uptick in Violence Forces Closing of Parkland Along Mexico Border to Americans
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told Fox News that violence against law enforcement officers and U.S. citizens has increased in the past four months, further underscoring the need to keep the 80 miles of border land off-limits to Americans. The refuge had been adversely affected by the increase in drug smugglers, illegal activity and surveillance, which made it dangerous for Americans to visit.
"The situation in this zone has reached a point where continued public use of the area is not prudent," said refuge manager Mitch Ellis. “It’s literally out of control,” said Babeu. “We stood with Senator McCain and literally demanded support for 3,000 soldiers to be deployed to Arizona to get this under control and finally secure our border with Mexico." U.S. Fish and Wildlife officials have warned visitors in Arizona to beware of heavily armed drug smugglers and human traffickers.

Obama Prevaricates about Jobs
The U.S. Labor Department reports a very different picture. The number of long-term unemployed, defined as Americans out of work for 27 or more weeks, is at its highest level since the Labor Department began collecting such data in the 1940s.
More bad news comes from the Labor Department. In May, 431,000 jobs were added, but nine-tenths of them were government jobs.
Unemployment of young men is the highest in 61 years of record-keeping, according to the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University in Boston. The numbers for minority teenagers are tragic.
Obama's $787 billion federal stimulus program was packaged in mental images of construction workers in hard hats. However, most of those hired with Stimulus dollars were government employees.

Stephanie Block Interviews on Relevant Radio Erased from Archives at the "Request" of Cardinal George's Staff?
A request from a Relevant Radio listener has revealed that staffers of Cardinal George, leader of the Archidiocese of Chicago and President of the USCCB, have asked that interviews from last year between Drew Mariani and CCHD expert Stephanie Block be erased from the web archives of past shows. After the missing interviews were discovered, Michael Kendall, Chief Programming Officer, sent the following note, "Thanks for your recent inquiry regarding archived audio segemnts from 2009 episodes of the Drew Mariani Show. The particular segments of interest to you were removed from our website at the request of the staff of a Bishop who was encouraging the faithful to support the collection for the CCHD. We encourage you to gather your facts about any problematic programs and submit them personally and privately to your Bishop alerting him to any concerns you might have. With prayer, hard work, sacrifice, and patience, such efforts are having a positive effect. God bless you for your pursuit of truth and justice. First Year Tab for Wisc Employees’ Domestic Partner Benefits Tops $7 Million
MacIver News Service – [Madison, Wisc...] Providing health insurance benefits to the domestic partners of state employees will cost more than $7 million dollars this year.
On Tuesday, the Department of Employee Trust Funds reported 700 employees have switched from single to family coverage to take advantage of the extended benefits. That will cost the state $7.4 million dollars this year. $3.1 million of that will come from general purpose tax revenues and $4.3 million will come from program revenues and segregated funds. Even though the benefits are currently coming in under projections, some state lawmakers are disappointed the state chose to offer additional benefits while facing a $6.6 billion deficit at the time the budget bill was drafted.
For Senator Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend) a $7.4 million price tag is no cause for celebration. “Both numbers struck me as high,” said Grothman. “Both the 700 people and the $7.4 million.” Grothman pointed out that with 70,000 state employees, 700 people taking advantage of the new benefits amounts to a full one percent of the workforce.

Stop the U.N. Gun Grab!
If passed by the U.N. and ratified by the U.S. Senate, the U.N.’s Small Arms Treaty would almost certainly FORCE national governments to:
- Enact tougher licensing requirements, making law-abiding citizens cut through even more bureaucratic red tape just to own a firearm legally
- CONFISCATE and DESTROY ALL “unauthorized” civilian firearms (all firearms owned by the government are excluded, of course)
- BAN the trade, sale and private ownership of ALL semi-automatic weapons
- Create an INTERNATIONAL gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun CONFISCATION.
WISDOM Seeks to Redistribute Wealth and Power Using Our Churches
Ultimately, these Metropolitan Organizations will be linked together by their staff and key leadership and will have the power to exercise greater influence on a national scale. As the social and physical condition of the urban areas continues to erode and the economic status of the suburban working class deteriorates, the power and importance of Metropolitan Organizations will grow. They may be the only organizations prepared and willing to take regional power to transform the metropolitan area and redistribute wealth and power. And if enough regions are transformed, America is transformed.

ACTION ITEM - Stop the EPA from Imposing Cap-and-Tax!
The Obama administration intends to bypass Congress and implement outrageous global warming regulation of the entire U.S. economy through the EPA. Many of you have helped us put tens of thousands of comments into the EPA, but they aren't listening. We need Congress to step in and stop the EPA power-grab, by sending a clear message to our elected officials: if you don't stop the EPA, we will hold you responsible for what they do.
The Senate is scheduled to vote June 10 on the Murkowski Resolution, S.J. Res. 26, that, if passed, will stop the out-of-control Environmental Protection Agency's global warming rampage cold.

Amnesty? Bureaucrats Already Drawing Up Plan to Implement
The U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, already has drafted a plan for processing 13 million illegal alien applicants for amnesty in a 30-week period at an estimated cost of $1 billion, WND has learned.
The plan, a copy of which was obtained by WND, anticipates the approval of so-called "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" legislation pending in Congress and assumes a nine-month ramp-up period for processing of applications. The undated draft report anticipates the possibility of the legislation requiring public benefits to amnesty applicants.
Is this a 'Qualified Supreme Court Nominee?'
She has the least amount of experience of any nominee in the last three decades. Her judicial experience is zero, as is her real-world experience, having spent most of her career in academia or working as a Democratic Party insider. (She did serve on an advisory committee for Goldman Sachs during the financial meltdown of 2007!)
Her tenure as Dean of Harvard Law School is marked by kicking the military off campus during the height of the Iraq War, a move that even Ruth Bader Ginsburg ruled was wrong-headed. Ms. Kagan's incredibly hostile view of the military suggests she is out of touch with mainstream sensibilities and obedience to the rule of law.
Even recently, in her brief tenure as Solicitor General, she argued that the federal government has the power, under campaign finance laws, to ban certain books and pamphlets. Responding to this argument of Ms. Kagan, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote, 'As a free-floating test for First Amendment coverage, that (proposition) is startling and dangerous.'

Arizona Seems Onto Something
Putatively pro-immigrant activists don't. The Gamaliel Foundation, a left-wing front, bused 100 pastors to Kenosha Thursday to protest at the jail because the feds hold possible deportees there. The pastors don't want illegal immigrants deported. One leader, the Rev. Dennis Jacobsen of Milwaukee, declared this demand part of a "moral vision" for immigration reform and spoke of "the hateful mind-set in Arizona."
Activists setting up a May Day march in Milwaukee, due to happen between when I write this and when you read it, were saying much the same. They were enraged at Arizona's law, the heart of which says state authorities can't ignore the question of whether someone's here illegally. That's racist, they contended.

Times Square Suspect...
The man suspected of attempting to bomb Times Square was inspired by a radical cleric with links to suspects in the failed Christmas Day plane bombing and the Fort Hood shootings, according to reports. Faisal Shahzad, 30, has told investigators that he watched Internet videos by the American-born, Yemeni based cleric, Anwar al-Aulaqi ahead of allegedly driving a weapon of mass destruction into the centre of New York. The cleric was the first American citizen to be placed on a list of most wanted by the CIA when the Obama administration authorised his killing in April. Mr al-Aulaqi is believed to be a recruitment officer for al-Qaeda and has been tied with the 9/11 terrorists as well as Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian accused of trying to blow up a Detroit-bound airliner on Christmas Day, and Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist accused of killing 13 people in November at Fort Hood, Texas.

Justice Department..
Three Border Patrol agents are assaulted on the average day at or near the U.S. border. Someone is kidnapped every 35 hours in Phoenix, Ariz., often by agents of alien smuggling organizations. And one-in-five American teenagers last year used some type of illegal drug, many of which were imported across the unsecured U.S.-Mexico border. These facts are reported in the recently released National Drug Threat Assessment for 2010, published by the National Drug Intelligence Center, a division of the U.S. Justice Department. They ought to add some perspective to the national debate raging over Arizona’s new law that requires local law enforcement officers to make a “reasonable attempt” to determine the immigration status of persons they legally come into contact with and whom they reasonably suspect of being in the country illegally

Forced Abortions in America?
This week, reporters broke the story of a young girl in the Pennsylvania foster care program who became pregnant. When the state Department of Human Services (DHS) found out, they asked for a family court order approving the state to take her in for an abortion-despite the fact that her mom refused to consent. By that time, the girl was 24-weeks pregnant.
"Although it is DHS policy that a state worker accompany any minor who has a court-ordered medical procedure, this did not happen on the girl's first attempt to have the abortion." Instead, she was smuggled to New Jersey for the appointment--alone. Because the young mom didn't have the proper paperwork, she had to return a second time for the abortion--this time with a state government worker, who ensured that the baby never came home. Apparently, that employee didn't bother to contact the girl's foster mom, who panicked when she didn't return from school that day. When she walked through the door at 8:30 that night, her foster mom asked her "what happened?" The girl replied, "The baby is dead."
According to the Philadelphia Daily News, "The teen told her that [DHS worker Cynthia] Brown had taken her out of school to get an abortion in New Jersey." As for conscience rights of those involved? Forget it. The girl's original social worker was fired for refusing to participate in the abortion. "They hired me to work in child protection, not to kill children," she said. And while the state insists it didn't pay for the abortion (the city of Mayfair did), a state worker did accompany her and most likely paid for her transportation. Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated incident. Of the 335 girls who became pregnant under DHS's care, almost a third abort--and nearly half of those are done by a judge's order.

Teen Pregnancy Isn’t the Story. The Demise of Marriage Is.
Only about 7.5 percent of these out-of-wedlock births, 130,000, were to girls under 18. Of course, these births can be disastrous for the girls involved. But as a social problem, teen pregnancies and births are of quite limited importance. By contrast, 1.72 million out-of-wedlock births amount to an overwhelming catastrophe for taxpayers and society.

Democrats Try To Lock Up Their Base
Indeed, the Democrats and their feminist allies have decided on one of their major goals. It is to increase the number of single moms by increasing the flow of taxpayer-paid incentives that subsidize the non-marriage lifestyle. The plan also includes locking in this group's dependence on government and allegiance to the Democratic Party. The plan is conveniently set forth in a 60-page document called "Advancing the Economic Security of Unmarried Women" just published by John Podesta's leftwing think tank called Center for American Progress.
The Democrats know that 70 percent of unmarried women voted for Barack Obama in the 2008 election. It's obviously part their political game plan to reward that group and keep it in the Obama column.
